Heat Safety for Seniors: Stay Cool, Stay Safe
By Justice For Our Parents
Los Angeles Elder Care Facilities

Summer heat can be dangerous for older adults. Adults over 65 are more likely to suffer from heat exhaustion or heat stroke—conditions that can quickly become life-threatening.
Tips to Stay Safe During High Heat:
- Stay indoors during peak heat hours (10 AM–4 PM)
- Use fans or air conditioning whenever possible
- Drink plenty of water—even if you don't feel thirsty
- Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing
- Check in on elderly neighbors or relatives regularly
- Know the signs of heat illness: dizziness, rapid pulse, nausea, confusion
If neglect or poor care has exposed a loved one to heat-related danger, Justice For Our Parents is here to help. To learn more about our elder abuse attorney services, please click here.
