Ombudsman Programs Play Critical Role In Protecting the Elderly and Vulnerable
By Justice For Our Parents
Los Angeles Elder Care Facilities

California’s Budget Act (AB 102) passed with ongoing funding to support Long-Term Care Ombudsman programs.
Ombudsmen are state-certified, trained volunteers who advocate for residents in long-term care facilities, investigate complaints, and help resolve issues within those facilities. When families raise concerns, having a strong, well-funded ombudsman program can make a meaningful difference in how quickly and effectively those concerns are addressed.
Ombudsmen play a critical role in facility accountability. Third party oversight isn’t just good policy—it’s real-life protection for our vulnerable elders.
