The National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care recently released a report on The Impact of Understaffing on the Daily Lives of Nursing Home Residents. This eye-opening report sheds light on the daily struggles faced by nursing home residents due to understaffing. Over 120 residents shared their experiences, revealing alarming findings:
- 88% lack adequate staff for their needs
- 87% are affected by understaffing daily
- 73% miss activities due to insufficient staff
- ▪️57% report delayed meals
- ▪️58% do not receive medications on time
