Understanding the Older Americans Act Reauthorization (119th Congress)
By Justice For Our Parents

The Older Americans Act (OAA) has been the cornerstone of support for seniors since 1965, funding critical programs like meals-on-wheels, caregiver support, health services, and elder abuse prevention.
Now, the 119th Congress is working to reauthorize and update the OAA —prioritizing:
- Expanding home and community-based services to help seniors live independently
- Strengthening protections against elder abuse and exploitation
- Increasing support for caregivers and family members
- Enhancing access to transportation and nutrition programs
What can you do?
- Contact your representatives and urge them to support the reauthorization
- Share this post to raise awareness about how this law protects our elders
- Volunteer or donate to local aging services organizations
At Justice For Our Parents, we support policies that uphold dignity, safety, and justice for seniors. To learn more about our elder abuse attorney services, please click here.
