What Families Should Know about the 2025 Conservator Laws

Beginning January 1, 2025, California requires conservators to file a care plan within 120 days of appointment and 10 days before conservatorship continuation or termination hearings. This ensures transparency and accountability in elder care.

Families must now have clear documentation on items including:

  • The conservatee's daily care and medical needs
  • Financial management and spending oversight
  • Plans for social engagement and mental well-being
